The firm's civil litigation practice consists of trial and appellate work in state and federal courts including general civil litigation, business disputes, contract disputes, personal injury, real estate matters, securities violations, divorce and other domestic relations, construction, criminal defense, collections, and insurance defense. Employment Law. Our employment law practice involves advising employers in all areas of employment law and litigating employment claims. Messrs. Derdeyn, Pettit and Long.

Family Law. The firm's family law practice consists of all aspects of domestic relations matters, including divorce, equitable distribution, spousal support, child custody, visitation, child support, and pre-marriage counseling and agreements. We also represent parties in protective order proceedings and suits for separate maintenance, and advise with respect to all juvenile matters, both civil and criminal. Messrs. Feil, Franzén and Lee.

Real Estate. We conduct a broad-based real estate practice for individual, corporate and banking clients, including both commercial and residential purchases, sales and financing, construction lending, developer sales, commercial leasing, mortgage lending, commercial and residential landlord-tenant, zoning, homeowners associations, and condominium and land development projects. Trusts and Estates. The firm offers sophisticated, tax-motivated and non-tax- motivated estate planning services to individuals, including those with substantial closely-held businesses, qualified retirement plans and other forms of accumulated wealth. Tax. The firm offers advice and representation in federal, state and local tax matters, including business and investment structuring; estate, gift and generation-skipping taxation, general corporate and individual income tax planning; and tax controversy matters. The firm limits tax compliance work (tax return preparation) to unusual situations which require special handling, preferring to encourage our clients to establish and maintain a relationship with a certified public accountant for compliance work.
